YOUR GUIDE FOR SENDING MESSAGES

How
to address a message to:
Another
Authorized Wireless Word Device
An Internet Email Address
A Word, Advanced Word or
2-Way Device on another carrier
A PCS phone
To
address a message to a WebLink
Wireless 2-Way Word Device:
Simply
use the 10 digit phone number. In some 2-Way
devices, the address is called a PIN.
- If
a non-Authorized Wireless device wants to send a message
to you, your e-mail address is: your10digitphonenumber@airmessage.net
To
address a message to an Internet
Email Address:
Addressing
a message to someone's email is no different than the
address you would use from your desktop computer. Simply
enter the person's address into your 2-Way device as
an email address. When sending a message from
your computer, use your normal email procedures.
To
address a message to any Word, Advanced Word or 2-Way
Device on another network:
Enter
the address in your Authorized Wireless 2-Way Device as
an email address. Use
the chart below to look up the carrier for the device
if you do not know the email address. (If
you cannot successfully get a message to a device, you
may need to ask the other person to determine the e-mail
address for his or her device. For many carriers, the
address is not easily known.)
- In
the paging industry, some devices have a PIN that
is a distinct number different from the telephone
number, and yet is part of the e-mail address. In
these cases, you will need to ask the other person
for his or her PIN before you can establish the e-mail
address for their device.

To
address a message to any PCS
Phone:
Enter
the address in your Authorized Wireless 2-Way Device as
an e-mail address. Use the chart below to
look up the carrier for the device if you do not know
the email address.
- The
ability of cellular digital phones to receive text
messages varies widely in North America. Some carriers
reportedly do not offer this service, but the phone
subscriber may nevertheless be
able
to obtain an e-mail address.
- Many
of the cellular digital networks do not have the e-mail
or text message feature 'on' for every phone. The
phone subscriber may have to request that this feature
be turned on.
- Some
cellular networks limit the number of characters that
may be transmitted to a phone. Therefore, a message
you send may be truncated if it is over this limit.
- Cellular
digital phone networks are at different points in
the development of 2-Way Short Message Service (SMS).
Most networks are expected to be fully 2-Way capable
by the middle of 2001.
